"Your heart is so much bigger ever since I made it big."
Rapper KYLE released a 2015 song titled "Remember Me?," in a move that he would later undo. On the song, he called out his father, Chris Harvey. With a Chance the Rapper hook, the song is made up of verses about the lack of support KYLE received from his dad growing up. To further elaborate, KYLE confirmed in an interview that he didn't hang out with his dad a lot during his early childhood. Years after the release of the song, the world would lose Chris Harvey. May he rest in peace.
KYLE touched on the song recently, in an Instagram post caption. The caption explains that on the night of Chris Harvey's passing, KYLE requested for the song to be taken down. The caption also says that a discussion took place between him and his father. The discussion would teach KYLE that his father wasn't mad about the song at all. I'm big on the principle that if a finger gets pointed at you, don't automatically self-justify. Instead, look at these types of situations thoroughly. Always aim for peace.
"Sweetest Thing," a song by KYLE, is about KYLE's past relationships. Produced by Nate Fox and Ceej, the song has a first verse addressed to KYLE's former S/O, DJ Jadaboo. KYLE lets it be known in the verse that he hopes DJ Jadaboo is ok, and that he loves her. Following the verse, he is joined by Shawn Mendes in the song's chorus. The chorus says to me that KYLE is not looking at the past with a negative mindset. He implies in the song's second verse that he hopes Chris Harvey is in heaven. KYLE also dropped a song titled "Father Time," produced by Nate Fox and Nico. Over piano keys, KYLE expresses on this song that he took his time with Chris Harvey for granted.
Due to the forgiveness of past actions, KYLE and his father had an adult bond. We need to forgive those in our lives who do us wrong.
The benefits are physical. Forgiveness can lead to lower blood pressure, a stronger immune system, and improved heart health for an individual.
Tell your people that you love them. Call your OGs. Call your friends up. Write a letter to your old shawty. Spray some Paco Rabanne on it if you want her back. Approach anyone who came to mind with an I aint mad at cha, got nothing but love for you. The label might make me spell that right and credit Tupac for the line, except I'm not signed to a label. I just meant Eli. In all seriousness, the title of this blog includes KYLE's SuperDuperKyle moniker for a reason. It pays respect to the forgiveness in his heart. My call to action? Go be charitable.
